Western Area Swimming covers a large area of New South Wales, from Lightning Ridge to the north to Yeoval to the south, Mudgee on the eastern boundary and Bourke on the western boundary.
Western Area aims to conduct, encourage, promote and administer relevant swimming activities within the area.
Western Area Championships are held annually and are open to all registered swimmers within the area.
Many Western Area clubs individually organise qualifying and development meets through both the short course and long course carnivals. These are all approved by the Area and conducted under the rules of Swimming New South Wales, according to the SNSW Competition Strategy (updated June 2011).
